The Company:
Our client is an early stage, London based E-Commerce (SaaS) technology business on the cusp of a major expansion in the UK market. They have developed a disruptive technology offering that will change the way the ecommerce industry approaches improving online user experience and optimisation of their sites.
Having just released a second round of funding there is a clear strategy in place to drive significant revenue uplift, although they already boast some of the UK’s leading Ecommerce names amongst their clients.
These exciting plans have created a number of new roles, the most crucial of which is to secure the services of an exceptional Head of Sales & Account Management (Chief Revenue Officer).
The Role:
This is a brand new position that will take overall responsibility for all sales and account management functions and associated revenue.
You will inherit a team of two BDM’s initially with a view to recruiting three further BDM’s during the course of the year, and will also inherit an existing account management team of two which will also need to expand.
This is very much a player manager role given the early stage of our client’s growth; therefore you will need to make an individual contribution to the overall sales target. This is not a hands-off sales management position.
A complete structuring of the sales effort will be required and your strategic input and experience of similar projects will be valued highly. Projects such as Salesforce implementation, lead generation programmes and a structuring of the sales team verticals/territories will all need to be undertaken.
They are approaching their first stage of client renewals and are expecting a high level of uptake, and this will need to be managed and maximised as a priority.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will have in depth experience of selling digital marketing or preferably ecommerce SaaS technology into key online transactional channels, Retail, Travel and Financial Services. Proven knowledge of these verticals is essential as is experience selling into Ecommerce departments.
The solutions are focused on User Experience and Website Optimisation, so a background in this area will be a plus. Backgrounds selling solutions such as Web Analytics, Enterprise level E-Mail Solutions, Ecommerce trading solutions and so on are all very relevant.
As important is your ability to lead and build highly effective sales and account management teams. If this experience has been gained in an early stage business where there is a role your sleeves mentality it would be advantageous.
